  • Kate Middleton skipped two events that she was supposed to attend with Prince William.

  • A Kensington Palace spokesperson said Kate was sitting out because of her children—Prince George, Princess Charlotte, and Prince Louis.

Alright now, stop the presses: Kate Middleton, future queen and actual queen of showing up to literally everything, did not join Prince William for two major events on Thursday.

Mirror Online reported that Kate was initially set to join William at the Tusk Conservation Awards yesterday and, after that, a reception at the National Portrait Gallery. Kate supposedly didn't attend either of those events, and apparently it had something to do with Prince George, Prince Louis, and Princess Charlotte.

A Kensington Palace spokeswoman said, “The duchess is no longer able to attend the Tusk awards due to the children. She will still, however, meet finalists at a tea at Kensington Palace this afternoon. The duke as patron will attend both.”

As the spokeswoman reported, William and Kate did indeed meet the finalists of the Tusk Conservation Awards, which kind of suggests that George, Louis, and Charlotte are in good health.

So why did Kate skip out on the night’s activities? Well, there’s always the possibility that George, Louis, and Charlotte were all throwing an epic “I want my mommy” fit. (Of this, I am guilty.) Or gee—maybe Kate wanted a night off with just her and the kids? The girl works hard and she more than deserves it. Whatever the reason is, I sincerely hope all the royal babies are okay!
