Kate Middleton Smiles as She Joins Queen Elizabeth for Church in Scotland This Morning
Before Prince George and Princess Charlotte head back to school in September, the Cambridges are spending some quality time with Gan-Gan in Scotland. The Queen is currently on her summer holiday at Balmoral Castle, and this morning, the Duchess of Cambridge was spotted on her way to church alongside the British monarch.
Kate appears to be wearing a dark, perhaps navy double-breasted coat and fascinator for Sunday services. For her part, the Queen looked lovely in pink.
Prince William was also in the car; he rode up front, and was photographed wearing a classic suit with a maroon tie.
The whole Cambridge family was spotted on Thursday morning boarding a budget airline to fly to Aberdeen for their late summer getaway. In the video from the tarmac, which was published by the Daily Mail, Prince William carried the luggage to the plane, and the family appeared to be accompanied by nanny Maria.
It's customary for the Queen's family to come and stay with her in Scotland during her summer holiday. Over the past few weeks, the British monarch has been visited by Prince Andrew, Prince Edward, Sophie Countess of Wessex, and the York Princesses.
Harry, Meghan, and baby Archie likely aren't there this weekend because Prince Harry attended the Rugby League Challenge Cup final on Saturday at Wembley Stadium.
Princess Eugenie has previously shared that Balmoral is one of Queen Elizabeth's favorite places.
"I think Granny is the most happy there. I think she really, really loves the Highlands," the monarch's granddaughter said in the documentary Our Queen At Ninety.
“Walks, picnics, dogs—a lot of dogs, there’s always dogs—and people coming in and out all the time,” Eugenie continued. “It’s a lovely base for Granny and Grandpa, for us to come and see them up there, where you just have room to breathe and run.”
The British monarch will reportedly return to London, and to the public eye, in October.
