After weeks of rain, the sun came out in Windsor for the annual Garter Day ceremony.

While the Queen and heirs to the throne wear traditional pomp gowns and feathered headpieces, Kate Middleton attended the event wearing an ivory Catherine Walker coat dress with black lace stitched detail.

Walker has long been one of the Duchess of Cambridge's go-to designers, particularly when it comes to coat dresses - which she's worn in various colours and styles.

Kate, who was seen chatting to Queen Maxima of the Netherlands and Queen Letizia of Spain, accessorised the coat with a black Lock & Co hat, hair tied into a neat low bun and dangling pearl earrings.

Taking place in St George's Chapel in Windsor Castle - the same venue where Prince harry and Meghan Markle married in 2018 - the day celebrates the new Knights (both male and female) of the garter chosen by the Queen.

Nowadays, the monarch chooses people on the basis of their public service.

As mentioned, this is not the first time that Kate Middleton has opted for a Catherine Walker number. Most recently she wore a teal coat dress that she's worn on multiple occasions when attending an Anzac Day service with Prince Harry in April.

Back in early 2019, she headed to Sandringham's St Mary Magdalene Church with Prince William in tow, wearing much the same thing.

For the service, Kate opted for a previously worn blue Catherine Walker coat dress and matching headband to attend a service at Sandringham's St Mary Magdalene Church with her husband Prince William. The Duchess completed her outfit with navy blue court shoes and loose wavy hair.

Blair Waldorf headband? Check. Colour co-ordinating your hair accessories with your outfit? Check. Recycling a previously worn outfit? Triple check.

Yup, she's done it again.

Proving there's no end to how many ways you can style one classic coat, the mum of three recycled an old favourite by designer Catherine Walker. Kate previously wore the timeless style (rumoured to cost around £3000) last year whilst pregnant with Prince Louis, during her royal tour of Norway in February:

A keen support of sustainable and recycled fashion, this is by no means the first time Kate has sported an outfit more than once. Just last month she re-worked a pink silk Stella McCartney dress for the royal Christmas lunch at Buckingham palace.

The fashion forward dress looked strikingly similar to the outfit Kate wore to Prince Philip's private 90th birthday party in 2011.

Who said you can only wear a party dress once?
