NBC News journalist Kate Snow will no longer anchor the network’s Sunday night news program after more than eight years behind the anchor desk.

Snow announced Sunday that she will be leaving the Sunday edition of NBC Nightly News — which she’s been a part of since 2015 — to focus on her role anchoring the station’s daytime program during the week.

“For eight and a half years, I have loved being with you every Sunday night. It’s been a privilege. Many of you know I also anchor a weekday program, NBC News Daily,” she said during the broadcast.

“Our audience on NBC News Daily is growing fast, and I have decided after a lot of thought to focus my attention Monday through Friday, on that role.”

Snow has anchored NBC Nightly News on Sundays since 2015.

Snow was named co-anchor of NBC News Daily in 2022.

Her last time appearing on Sunday nights will be next week.

“I will miss the team that you don’t see behind the cameras here but I’ll still continue to be part of the Nightly News family, reporting and contributing,” she said.

In addition to daytime anchoring, Snow also serves as a senior national correspondent for NBC and will continue to appear on various network programs in that role.

NBC has not yet named a replacement for Sunday’s Nightly News program. A rotating crew of anchors is expected to lead the Sunday show until a candidate is chosen for the gig.
