Kate Upton Calls Miami Dolphins National Anthem Protest 'Horrific'
Kate Upton called out four Miami Dolphins players who refused to stand during the national anthem on Sunday, the 15-year anniversary of Sept. 11.
The model said on Twitter that the behavior was “unacceptable” and later added that the protest was a “disgrace to those people who have served and currently serve our country.”
This is unacceptable. You should be proud to be an American. Especially on 9/11 when we should support each other.https://t.co/qFozwaH9Bu

The four Miami Dolphins — running back Arian Foster, outside linebacker Jelani Jenkins, free safety Michael Thomas and wide receiver Kenny Stills — are amongthe latest athletes to kneel during the national anthem after San Francisco 49ers quarterbackColin Kaepernickmade headlines with a similar protest before an NFL preseason game.
Upton also shared a longer message on Instagram, saying that she “could never imagine multiple people sitting down during the national anthem on the September 11th anniversary.”
“The lessons of 911 should teach us that if we come together, the world can be a better and more peaceful place,” she wrote.
