Katharine McPhee Foster spills on 'easy' marriage to David Foster, her new name

Katharine McPhee Foster thinks her new married name is a smash.

Though she isn't used to her updated moniker, the "American Idol" competitor, who wed music maker David Foster, 69, in June, told Entertainment Tonight she's enjoying how it sounds.

"... I just love the ring of it," she told the outlet Sunday at an event in Hollywood, Calif., "so I'm enjoying it."

The former "Scorpion" actress, 35, explained she wanted to adopt Foster because she's "a romantic."

"I like the idea of it. I think it's romantic, and it's a great last name," she said.

Though the two have been married for less than two months, McPhee Foster already has a favorite part of wedded bliss.

"The fact that we just really love being with each other," she told ET. "There's no arguing, no drama. It's just easy. That's how it should be."

But will the couple make literal beautiful music together? The newlywed is unsure.

"I'm not sure that I want to make a record right now, but if I were going to make one, it would probably be with him," she said. "Since he's the best, and he's in my backyard, so to speak."

Following their wedding, they shared photos of their Italian honeymoon to Instagram.

"Love Italian style," she captioned a photo of the two kissing with a bride and heart emoji.
