Inside CES

Every January, Las Vegas braces for a crowd a little more “geeky” than glam when the annual International Consumer Electronics Show, or CES, invades Sin City. CES, the largest tech trade show, attracts between 150,000 and 160,000 visitors, with more than 3,600 companies displaying 20,000 new products.

Since 1967, the Consumer Electronics Association, a lobbyist group that supports consumer tech, has been throwing this party. The event has become the premier place for companies big and small to announce the newest, greatest and latest tech innovations and inventions.

CES has been home to numerous monumental debuts — from VCRs and camcorders to HDTV and Xbox.

Some say CES may no longer be as necessary as it once was, with big companies often opting to host their own product launches. Still, many continue to find CES to be the best path from prototype to store shelves.

And this year there has been no shortage of new products. The biggest trends include enhanced home viewing with higher-tech TVs and 4K resolution, more wearables for fitness, health and functionality, and increased connectivity to everything you own.

So whether you made the trek to Vegas or not, at least after watching this video you can say, “Now I Get It.”

4K TVs are really big at CES this year but if you still don't know what it is check out our video below:
