An award-winning journalist and popular TV anchor is coming to Cincinnati.

Katie Couric, the former co-host of the "Today" show and anchor for "CBS Evening News," will be in the Queen City on June 11 for the first-ever Cincinnati Upstander Weekend, hosted by the Nancy & David Wolf Holocaust & Humanity Center.

According to a press release, the goal of Upstander Weekend, located at Cincinnati Museum Center in Union Terminal, is to celebrate and uplift the community's changemakers. The two-day event on June 10-11 will feature several family-friendly activities to encourage residents to give back to the region, including an Upstander 5K, a pickleball tournament, a volunteer expo and a gala-style awards ceremony hosted by Couric at 6 p.m. June 11.

The award ceremony will recognize individuals in the region who use their strengths to make a difference in the community, the press release states. Couric, the founder of the media company Katie Couric Media, which partners with Cincinnati-based Procter & Gamble, will serve as the event's master of ceremonies.

Tickets are on sale now at www.upstanderweekend.org. Ticket prices range from $35-$5,000.
