Katie Price's family had serious conversations about sectioning the model back in 2021, it's been revealed.

At the time, the mum-of-five had just flipped her BMW under the influence of alcohol, which would lead to appearances at Crawley Magistrates Court.

Speaking to The Sun two years on, her mum Amy Price now believes that this was a suicide attempt.

"I'd feared it would reach that point one day," she confessed. "After all the years of failed relationships, betrayals by friends, duplicitous managers, and the painful loneliness she had experienced all her life. It had all come to a head.

"We seriously thought about sectioning Kate under the Mental Health Act, but I just couldn't do that to my own daughter."

Amy, who refers to the I'm a Celebrity... Get Me Out of Here! favourite as 'Kate', went on to recall her daughter's reaction to the crash.

"Kate began by apologising and then said, 'I don't want to be here. How am I still alive, mum? I just don't want to be here.' Thankfully, a decent man had stopped his car to help her and I could hear him in the background telling her, 'You've got five kids. You've got everything to live for,'" she said.

"Me, her stepdad Paul, brother Dan and sister Sophie had a conversation about attempting to have her sectioned to get her the help she so desperately needed."

This comes after Katie herself told GB News presenter Mark Dolan that she'd hit "rock bottom".

"It was that bad that I tried to commit suicide, but I've come up from that. You can get out of that rut. If I can do it, you can do it," she shared back in January.

"Remember, nothing is that bad. It's just when you're in that bad place your mind ruminates and you think you can't get out of that rut, but you can do it."
