Katie Price opens up on 'shock' of being told son Harvey was blind

Katie Price has said she felt like she and her son Harvey were on "a conveyer belt" when they were told he was blind.

The star had an easy pregnancy with the 21-year-old – her eldest child – but after he was born he was diagnosed with multiple disabilities, including partial blindness, autism, septo-optic dysplasia and Prader-Willi syndrome, which can cause extreme appetite and weight gain.

Opening up on her podcast The Katie Price Show, Price said Harvey was a baby when she first learned that he couldn't see, and that the way she was told was "cold" and "heartless".

She said: "I was holding Harvey and he sort of flashed a torch and done what he did in his eyes and literally, I am not joking, he just said, 'Yeah your son's blind.' That's it!

"And me and mum sat there thinking, 'Right, right', thinking they are going to say something."

"It was the most heartless thing ever," she said, going on to add that it was "cold".

The star, who had Harvey with ex-footballer Dwight Yorke, went on: "And then we just left the room, like, 'Now what?'"

"It was like a conveyer belt - next one!" she added.

The 45-year-old, who is a mum of five, said it was "a shock" but that it made her "nurture" Harvey even more.

The Mucky Mansion star also told listeners that although Harvey is "challenging", she wouldn't change him for the world.

The star is also mum to son Junior, 18, and daughter Princess, 16, from her former relationship with Mysterious Girl singer Peter Andre. She shares her son Jett, nine, and daughter Bunny, eight, with her ex Kieran Hayler.
