Katy Perry & Orlando Bloom Reveal Their Baby's Sex in the Sweetest, Messiest Way

We’re officially tickled pink! Thanks to a super-sweet (and oh-so-messy) Instagram reveal, we now know Katy Perry is expecting a baby girl with fiancé Orlando Bloom. And let’s be real: This is going to be one cute, sparkly, colorful kid if her mama has anything to do with it. The couple shared their happy news on Friday, taking to Instagram to post a revealing photo of proud papa Bloom.
So, how did they reveal their baby’s sex? Well, they slathered something in a rather telling hue all over Bloom’s face. Frosting? Shaving cream? We can’t be sure what the mystery substance was, but we’re choosing to believe it was something as literally sweet as it was figuratively. After all, Perry has been vocal in recent weeks about her pregnancy cravings. Either way, there’s no denying one fact: Whatever it was, it was pink! Perry confirmed what the couple is expecting with a simple caption, writing, “It’s a girl.”
TBH, we’re not sure what we love most — the mental image of Perry covering Bloom’s face in pink fluff, or the look of sheer glee on Bloom’s face in the resultant photo. Or, wait, our favorite part might actually be that Perry geo-tagged the image “Girls Run the World.”

Mostly, though, we’re just glad that Perry and Bloom got to enjoy this moment together. She announced her pregnancy on March 5 with the release of her song “Never Worn White.” In the video and a follow-up Instagram Live, she made it clear she and Bloom are expecting.
Shortly after, the novel coronavirus was deemed a pandemic while Bloom was still in Prague filming Carnival Row. When the series halted production due to the outbreak, he told his fans via Instagram that he would be returning to the US to self-quarantine. Now, a source told People, he’s “back at home” and “isn’t sick.”
Perry is well, too, and the couple reportedly plans to “lay low” and enjoy this time together before their baby girl comes sometime this summer.
