Kauffman Engineering to close Logansport facility, lay off 151 workers

Oct. 27—Kauffman Engineering, LLC recently announced it is laying off 151 workers and permanently closing its Logansport facility located at 830 IN-25.

Kauffman sent a notice pursuant to the Worker Adjustment and Retraining Notification Act of 1988 (WARN) to the Indiana Department of Workforce Development on Monday.

In the letter, Kauffman said the move is due to current market conditions and is to ensure its financial stability.

Beginning Dec. 23, Kauffman will move forward with reducing the current labor force. It is expected that all 151 full-time employees will be permanently laid off by May 26, 2023.

Kauffman Engineering is one of the largest manufacturers of wire harness and cable assemblies in the U.S., headquartered in Lebanon. Kauffman Engineering is comprised of multiple manufacturing facilities throughout the U.S. and Mexico.
