During a visit to “The Rich Eisen Show” last summer, actor Henry Winkler first professed he was a big fan of Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes.

At that time, Winkler issued an open dinner invitation to Mahomes and his wife, Brittany. Mahomes has said he’d like to break bread with the legendary actor, who is known for “Happy Days,” “The Waterboy,” “Arrested Development” and “Barry.”

That dinner is not yet scheduled, but Winkler mentioned it again this week while on “The Kelly Clarkson Show.”

Sports broadcaster Kay Adams later joined the show and said she’d do her best to help facilitate the dinner.

“I have covered him for a long time going back to Texas Tech. You’re from Texas,” Adams said to Clarkson. “I looked at your menu, Henry. I want to help you out. First of all, we’ve got to talk ambiance. The way to a quarterback is through his stomach, is through his offensive line. You’ve got to get those invites out. Those big boys have to come over. So you better be cooking up a lot of that chicken.”

Winkler perked up and said: “Are we talking (tight end Travis) Kelce?”

“No,” Adams said. “His offensive line. But Kelce can come. The more the merrier. Also, he puts ketchup on everything.”

Clarkson liked hearing that.

Winkler said he’d have bottles of the condiment up and down the dinner table.

“And he loves Whataburger, which he brought to Kansas City, which is a Texas thing,” Adams said. “Here’s what we’ll do. We’ll make a video and I’m not going to send this to Patrick. We’re going to send this to Brittany Mahomes, his lovely wife.”

And that’s just what Adams did. She made a video with Clarkson, Winkler and actress Melissa Barrera, who also was on the show. Adams said she sent it to Brittany Mahomes, so maybe that will get the ball rolling.
