Kayleigh McEnany Said WHAT About Trump and Juneteenth?

In US news and current events today, White House Press Secretary Kayleigh McEnany said that President Trump deserves credit for increasing awareness about Juneteenth.

After the police killing of George Floyd, Breonna Taylor, Rayshard Brooks, and countless other Black people in America, the resulting George Floyd protests and Black Lives Matter protests against police brutality, police racism, and police violence have put systemic racism in the spotlight as BLM protesters take to the streets in support of police reform, racial justice and civil rights. Few figures have done more to stoke racial division in our country than President Donald Trump, whose insistence on protecting Confederate statues and Confederate monuments, proclaiming that their are good people "on both sides" of the Civil Rights movement, and countless other racist actions have made it clear where his priorities lie. So for President Donald J. Trump, through his Press Secretary Kayleigh McEnany, to claim credit for awareness of Juneteenth, a holiday celebrated throughout Black America recognizing the end of slavery in Texas, is patently absurd on its face, especially after he originally scheduled the Tulsa Trump rally for this monumental date. For Trump, Juneteenth should not be something to brag about. It should be a time to reflect on his actions and try to steer this country in a better direction, something of which it appears he is incapable.
