Kayshon Boutte does not run 40-yard dash at LSU pro day, despite poor NFL combine time

BATON ROUGE – LSU football wide receiver Kayshon Boutte did not participate in the 40-yard dash at LSU's pro day on Wednesday.

Boutte sat out the 40-yard dash despite running a poor time at the NFL Combine in Indianapolis on March 4. Boutte ran a 4.50-second 40 at the combine, the quicker of two times.

LSU's Micah Baskerville, Joe Foucha, Jarrick Bernard-Converse, Todd Harris Jr., Mike Jones Jr., Colby Richardson, Jaquelin Roy and Tre'Mond Shorts participated in the 40-yard dash on Wednesday.

At the NFL Combine, Boutte finished 39th among all wide receivers in the 10-yard split with a time of 1.58 seconds. He also finished last in the vertical (29 inches) and second-to-last in the broad jump (9' 10").

Boutte had announced after the SEC Championship Game that he was returning to LSU for his senior season. But just days before the Tigers' matchup against Purdue in the Citrus Bowl, he reversed course and entered the NFL Draft.

"(Kayshon) needed to get all of that information," LSU coach Brian Kelly said prior to the Tigers' bowl game. "And once he did, he made the best decision for him and we support him 100%."
