KCI Airport sees more nonstop flights to these spring break destinations

With weather that already feels like spring and school spring break periods mere weeks away, Kansas City travelers looking to extend this feeling have more options to get away.

In March, many nonstop flights to Florida, Jamaica, Mexico and other warm-weather destinations are scheduled to be up appreciably from one year ago.

KCI Airport adds nonstop flights to three US destinations

According to an analysis by the Kansas City Business Journal of flight data from Cirium Inc., the number of nonstop flights from Kansas City International Airport to a dozen common spring break hot spots is up by more than 140, which amounts to almost 27,000 additional seats compared to March 2023.

Here’s which airports have seen the biggest year-over-year gain in seats:

  • Northwest Florida Beaches International Airport in Panama City — 166.67% increase in seats

  • Cancun International Airport in Mexico — 81.30%

  • Sarasota Bradenton International Airport in Florida — 79.87%

  • Southwest Florida International Airport in Fort Myers — 41.44%
