HEATHER ABRAHAM: Well, Lindsay has a light jacket on right now, but we know that things are really going to be warming up. Isn't that right, Ron?

RON SMILEY: Yeah, we could be setting some records for high temperatures today. In fact, yesterday we were just two degrees off for the record high, hitting 81 degrees. I'm forecasting another high today of 81 degrees. It's going to be plenty hot out there at PNC Park. Let's talk about some opening days for you.

Now, last year, you know, was a little bit of a stand down. Opening day, no fans were allowed in the park, and it actually happened July 27. Everything else, though, is at least around where we're opening today. It's fairly late, but you'll notice there's a lot of 30s and 40s on opening days.

We do have all the way back in 2015, when we opened on April 13, 80 degrees. But we will likely even be warmer than that today. Here's how I think things break down, including a 1 o'clock temperature, 78. 79 at 2 o'clock. 3 o'clock temperature coming in at 80 degrees. 4 o'clock, 80. Right there at 80 degrees also at 5 o'clock.

Probably right around the 4 o'clock hour, we'll also probably jump up to around 81 or so for your expected high. Other communities, lots of 80s expected today. 81, Washington, Wheeling, Morgantown. Beaver at 82.

In Pittsburgh, it's 82 today. That would be actually tying the record high, obviously, in 82 degrees. I think we'll be just shy of that, coming in at 81. You could start to see, though, the further off to the east you go, again, it's going to be a lot cooler on the eastern side of Laurel. So we are kind of blocking some of that heat today.

Hey, 57 your current temperature at this time. We have winds that are calm, they're going to be picking up, though. They'll be out of the southeast this afternoon, 10 to 20 miles an hour. So that could have an impact maybe even on a home run with the field facing off to the east. The dewpoint coming in at 48 degrees at this time, as well.

Radar's dry, here's the rain, though. It's heading our way and in fact, it should be here later on tonight. Most of the day is going to be dry for you. An isolated chance for a pop up shower here or there. After 3 o'clock, very small chance for that.

Most folks are going to have to wait until the overnight hours before the rain really starts to roll in. Kind of some waves, some light rain, maybe a weak thunderstorm through the morning hours of Friday. It looks like most of the afternoon on Friday will be dry.

Hey, temperatures right now, it's 57 in Pittsburgh. Cranberry, 52, and Butler at 55. 62 in Connellsville, and Waynesburg at 47. Here's your seven day. 81, your expected high temperature today. 73, your Friday high.

Weekend? Well, we're looking at temperatures cooling down. 74, your Saturday high, and some rain around on Sunday through the day. It'll be light, but that'll keep our temperatures down into the mid to low 60s.
