Keanu Reeves cameos in new SpongeBob SquarePants movie trailer
The trailer for the new SpongeBob SquarePants movie has just dropped, and it features an incredible cameo appearance from none other than Keanu Reeves.
Yep, capping off what has been an amazing year for the John Wick actor, Reeves appears in the clip as a wise sage – or his head at least – who just so happens to be surrounded by literal sage.
"I'm made out of sage and I am a sage, so it works out pretty well," he declares.
The 3D animated movie, titled Sponge on the Run, will see SpongeBob and Patrick set out on an adventure to The Lost City of Atlantic City to find Gary after the beloved pet snail is 'snail-napped'.
Alongside Reeves, the movie will also include the voice talent of Awkwafina.
The last SpongeBob movie – called Sponge Out of Water – came out in 2015 and was also in 3D.

Meanwhile, last year the TV show was subject to rumours that it had been cancelled after a screenshot of a tweet alleged to be from the official account circulated.
However, this turned out to be a hoax and the culprit of the doctored tweet eventually came forward.
The SpongeBob Movie: Sponge on the Run is due to be released in 2020.
