June is full of activities. Here are five events you might want to check out in the Peoria area this weekend.

Old Settlers Days in Metamora

One of the oldest festivals in central Illinois will be held June 22-25 in the historic village square in Metamora. The event will include a carnival, live entertainment, craft and food vendors, parade and more. For a full schedule of events, visit the Old Settlers Metamora Facebook page.

Heritage Days in Princeville

The Princeville Civic Association will present the annual Heritage Days from June 23-25 at Stevens Square Park in Princeville. The event will include a carnival, family entertainment, food tent and more. For a full schedule of events, visit the Princeville Civic Association Facebook page.

Swingin' in the Park

The Peoria Pops Orchestra will perform at an outdoor summer concert at 6:30 p.m. Friday, June 24, at Lakeview Park, 1917 W. Lake Ave. The program will be filled with the lively music of the swing era. Admission is free, with donations being accepted. There will be limited seating provided, so attendees are encouraged to bring lawn chairs or blankets to sit on.

Theater in the park

The music of Elvis comes alive when Corn Stock Theatre kicks off its run of "All Shook Up" at 7:30 p.m. Friday, June 24, in Upper Bradley Park, 1700 N. Park Road. The show will run through July 2 with performances at 7:30 each evening. Tickets are $22 for adults and $17 for students college age and under with an ID.

Kebabs are back

The Itoo Society invites all to join it for the 55th annual Shish-Ka-Bob from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. Saturday, June 25, at the Itoo Hall, 4909 W. Farmington Road. The traditional menu of beef or chicken kebabs, cabbage rolls, pita bread and Lebanese salad will be served. Children's hot dog meals and baklava will also be available for purchase. Preorder meals for convenient drive-thru pickup or enjoy your meal in the outdoor tent or pavilion seating, as well as limited indoor seating. Enjoy fun and games for the kids all day. This year's event will feature Felix and Fingers Dueling Pianos from 5 to 10 p.m. in the outdoor pavilion, along with late-night food options and a full-service bar.
