Keep Levelland Beautiful has received $25,000 and been recognized as a recipient of a 2022 Green Bag Grant, according to a news release.

The funds will support educational and opportunities relating to sustainability, recycling, litter prevention, beautification and water conservation. KLB also received $1,750 to kick off its proposed community project, expected to be completed in July 2023. Keep Texas Beautiful will provide social media and marketing support as well.

"We are thankful for sponsors like H-E-B who support our efforts to clean and beautify communities around Texas," said Suzanne Kho, KTB executive director. "We were excited by the diversity of proposals we received and cannot wait to see the projects our affiliates are able to complete with help from our Green Bag Grants."

The grant will help KLB host an electronic recycling event for Hockley County on April 1, as electronics are the "growing waste stream in the world and with 75% of them being illegally dumped or taken to the landfill." It will be a first-come-first-serve event and will continue until the truck is full.
