Keith Dmochowski: Berks real estate agency collecting donations for veterans

May 25—Starting in June, Richard A. Zuber Realty will be collecting nonperishable food and toiletry items for local veterans.

The collections are for the nonprofit organization Veterans Making a Difference, dedicated to helping veterans in need in Berks County, Zuber Realty said in a press release.

Items will be collected at Zuber Realty's Boyertown and Royersford offices during business hours all month.

Special collection days are scheduled at the Boyertown office on June 11 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. and at Boyertown's Redner's Market on June 18 from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. Donations of cash, checks, or gift cards are also accepted and encouraged.

Donation drop-off points are:

—Zuber Realty's offices, 201 E. Philadelphia Ave., Boyertown, and 384 N. Lewis Road, Royersford

—Redner's Market, 116 County Line Road, near Boyertown.

"Thanks to the generosity of the shoppers, we've routinely collected 10 or more grocery carts packed solid with items on their way to Veterans Making a Difference," said Jody Dolansky, chairwoman of Zuber Realty's Community Outreach Committee in a press release.

The press release said that on or around July 4, Zuber will load up the Zuber bus with the communities' donations and head to the Hope Rescue Mission in Reading and the Paul R. Gordon Social Center where Veterans Making a Difference has a food pantry.
