Keith Hernandez asks: ‘What is a PB&J?'

After a quick report from Steve Galbs about Mets pitcher Michael Wacha eating peanut butter and jelly sandwiches before games because he copied Adam Wainwright, Keith Hernandez was absolutely baffled. “What is a PB&J?,” Hernandez asked, getting a full “JESUS!” from his broadcast partners.

“I know BLT,” Hernandez said to spit-takes from Gary Cohen and Ron Darling. “I’ve never heard a peanut butter and jelly sandwich described like that...I’m getting out of touch.”

When pressed by Cohen and Darling, Hernandez said that he’d never heard of that from his grandchildren because they lived in the West. The Mets have come out of the gate rusty with few exceptions, but Hernandez, Cohen, and Darling — broadcasting from two locations — are in championship form.
