Apr. 26—Reading fire crews raced to a house on fire Tuesday afternoon in the 100 block of Hudson Street.

The dispatch occurred shortly before 2 p.m. and crews were told that flames were shooting out the windows, according to emergency reports.

Initially, the crews reported that all the residents were out of the house and the firefighting was ongoing.

Within 10 minutes crews reported most of the flames were knocked down but a second alarm was struck for manpower.

The second alarm summoned crews from the suburbs, including West Reading and Spring Township.

The fire was placed under control about 2:25 p.m.

Further details were unavailable.
