It's hard to imagine a Love Island without memorable catchphrases, personalised water bottles, and Caroline Flack's iconic entrance walk – but once upon a time, things in the villa were very, very different.

Because in its first incarnation – way back when in 2005 (!) – Love Island had an all-star celebrity cast, was filmed in Fiji, and was hosted by Patrick Kielty and Kelly Brook.

The early '00s were a magical time, weren't they?

Now, while reflecting on her (short-lived) stint as Love Island host, Kelly has joked that Caroline Flack might be copying her, after Caroline was linked to Kelly's ex-boyfriend Danny Cipriani.

Speaking on her radio show on Heart, Kelly mused: "Hang on, I was the first host of Love Island, then I dated Danny. It's like, what's next? Is she going to come and start hosting this show next?

"Is she just following my life or something?"

Probably not, Kelly.

She went on: "I don't know if she's still dating him. But when I look at stuff like that I'm like, 'This is just weird. It's just weird.'"

Meanwhile, Caroline has been busy defending the ITV2 reality series ahead of its premiere earlier this week, insisting that the show "will always be positive".

Hitting back at critics, Caroline said: "No-one has to put any effort to make it more positive. We've stood for positivity from day one. We're a show about love. There's nothing more positive in the world than love. That's what we create and are aiming for."
