Kelly is coming back, y’all! Expect to see your favorite judge back in her seat on next Monday’s episode. “You are doing such an amazing job @KelseaBallerini!! Thank you for taking great care of #TeamKelly for me. See y’all next week! #TheVoice,” Kelly tweeted.

Original story

The Voice is back for the Battle Rounds, but one person is noticeably absent during this week’s episode: Kelly Clarkson! Before the episode, Kelly shared a super-cute video on her Instagram of Nick Jonas, John Legend, and Blake Shelton all looking for her…but it left us with a few questions, starting with, Who’s going to run Kelly’s team?

“Hmmm…I wonder who’s sitting in my chair…any guesses?? 🤔” Kelly wrote in her caption. Fans began guessing who Kelly’s temporary replacement could be, bringing up singers like Gwen Stefani (great option), Bebe Rexha (yes, please), or Kelsea Ballerini (ding ding ding!).

While Kelly is sitting out The Voice, Kelsea is stepping up to the plate to take her place. In the process of thanking her, Kelly revealed where she really is: sick at home.

“Thank you so much @KelseaBallerini for sitting in for me while I was feeling under the weather!” Kelly captioned an IG post. “I know my team is in great hands with you!! Y’all aren’t going to want to miss this!! The battles start next week on @NBCTheVoice! #TeamKelly #TheVoice.”

Kelsea commented, “BIGGEST HONOR EVER and you know I got you.”

She also tweeted, “When @kellyclarkson calls and asks you to keep her seat warm, you put all those years of being her superfan to work. Thank you @johnlegend @nickjonas and ole pops @blakeshelton for making me feel like part of the @NBCTheVoice family.”

Aside from being a country music star, Kelsea also isn’t a stranger to The Voice. She joined the music competition show’s 15th season and coached six contestants. Still, she’s not supposed to be on the show long-term. It’s unclear when Kelly will return, but once she’s well again, she should reclaim her seat.

“I was home in Nashville and got a text from Kelly at, like, 9 p.m., like, ‘Hey, girl…I’m not feeling well. I don’t have COVID, but with the protocols, don’t feel safe going to set, could you cover the Battle Rounds for me?’” Kelsea told Entertainment Tonight. “So I got on the plane, studied everything, and watched everything. Landed, hair and makeup, set, said hi to Nick Jonas and John Legend and Blake Shelton, got in Kelly’s seat, and said, ‘Fake it till you make it!’”

Sounds like a total pro!
