Kellyanne Conway's Hot Take On College Admission Scandal Backfires Spectacularly
White House counselor Kellyanne Conway tried to offer up a hot take on the college admissions scandal that has ensnared some high-profile figures.
It didn’t go well, given that President Donald Trump has been mired in a scandal of his own over Trump University seminars. In 2017, Trump paid $25 million to settle a class-action lawsuit accusing him of fraud.
Actors Felicity Huffman and Lori Loughlin were among dozens of people charged on Tuesday in an alleged bribery scheme to get their kids admitted to top colleges.
Conway tweeted:
.@LoriLoughlin & @FelicityHuffman indicted for lying and buying spots in college.
They worried their daughters are as stupid as their mothers. https://t.co/cSBugdydmo— Kellyanne Conway (@KellyannePolls) March 12, 2019
Critics took Conway to task for attacking the celebs’ kids ― and many suggested that she was the wrong person to chime in on the issue in any case:
If you must, call out their parents for cheating (the irony, coming from you but on) but calling kids stupid when you are a parent of four? My god. I wish I could say that this would be a moment of self-reflection for you but we both know that it will not be.

Between alternative facts, selling Ivanka’s shit, the Bowling Green massacre, and microwaves recording people...I would pump the brakes on insulting anyone’s intelligence.

I thought people’s children were off limits? So, leave them out of it.

These two are despicable.
Meanwhile, your boss is selling access to the White House. Ran a fake university and neither he or his children earned their way through any institution, more importantly, life.

Yes, it’s terrible when kids of wealthy parents get things they don’t earn, like college placements and security clearances.

Kinda almost as bad as accepting help from a foreign adversary to install a puppet regime.

Could be worse, they could have a job where they lie & twist “alternate facts” for a living.

"The superintendent confirmed that wealthy NYMA trustees wanted him to hand Trump’s records over to them, but he refused...
Trump ordered Cohen to threaten his high school, colleges & College Board to never release his grades or SAT scores." #SummaCumLiar https://t.co/TP48RXWRzu— Julie Laumann (@Otpor17) March 12, 2019
Wait till you hear how your boss and his son in law got into college.

Are you fucking kidding me with this pearl clutching character assassination after your “alternative facts” bullshit? Sit down Bowling Green, sit the fuck down. #TuesdayThoughts https://t.co/Ckws49sXRa

Did you not get the memo that your boss literally used a fake university for the sole purpose of scamming the gullible.
