Kendall Jenner Wore Green Negative-Space Eye Makeup to the People’s Choice Awards

We're used to Kendall Jenner making a statement with her sense of style. She's seemingly tried it all, including '80s denim, paper-bag-inspired pants, and the coziest winter coat. For her latest appearance, however, the model allowed her makeup to take center stage and found an innovative use for eyeliner that had us seeing green.

Jenner attended the People's Choice Awards on Sunday night with an unexpected optical illusion gracing her eyelids. She shared a closeup of the look to her Instagram Story after the event, which featured three swipes of green liner in different places around her eye: the middle of her waterline, the inner corner of her eye, and her brow bone. She kept the rest of her beauty look minimal to allow her eyes to make a statement, pairing it with a polished top knot, matte pink lipstick, and golden highlighter.

Negative space makeup has been dominating red carpets over the past year, gracing the faces of stars like Emma Watson and Lily Collins. While all of the looks should prove easy to DIY, Kendall's take on the trend is especially ready for replication. All you have to do is take a colorful liner of your choice (though Kendall opted for green, it would look gorgeous with any bright shade, like blue, purple, or red), and mimic the spacing of the lines on your waterline, inner corner, and upper lid. Leave the rest of your look neutral, and feel free to skip on any other eye makeup altogether.

For some red carpet makeup that is literally as easy as 1, 2, 3, try testing the look with one of these rainbow liners:
