Kennewick Farmers Market opens at new home + Winery tasting room grand opening and more

The Kennewick Farmers Market makes its big debut the Public Market at Columbia River Warehouse, a winery debuts a summer concert series and other businesses made their moves this week.

Here’s a look at what is on the business community agenda.

Kennewick Farmers Market

The Kennewick Farmers Market debuts 4-7 p.m. today at its new home at the Public Market at Columbia River Warehouse, 10 E. Bruneau Ave.

The weekly market will operate there through Oct. 26 from 4-7 p.m. every Thursday.

The farmers market joins the public market on the eve of its first anniversary, June 9. The indoor market features more than 60 local artisans and food vendors with products ranging from cheese, honey, jewelry, art, clothing and more.

Ice Harbor Brewing also plans to open soon at the Public Market, though a date has not been finalized. It closed its flagship location on North Benton Street in February and is still open at the Clover Island marina.

Bosma Estate Winery

Bosma Estate Winery celebrates a new tasting room with grand opening festivities June 24 and 25 at 1000 E. Houghton Road, Outlook, the Yakima Valley community near Sunnyside.

On June 24, it will hold a market from noon-4 p.m. featuring local artisans. Visitors will have a chance to shop their goods, picnic on the grounds and play yard games.

Bosma will offer tastings of its malbec, cabernet sauvignon, petit verdot and roussanne vintages, which recently scored platinum and silver awards in the Great American international Wine Competition.

On June 25, it will offer yoga with goats, taught by Megan Tyler of Free Expressions Studio in Prosser. Ivory Hill Farms will provide Nigerian dwarf goats. Tickets are $25 and include yoga and a glass of wine.

Prosser outdoor concerts

WIT Cellars in partnership with Brewminatti and Perfect Circle plans a series of outdoor concerts at its Prosser grounds over the summer.

Heart by Heart, featuring original Heart members Steve Fossen and Michael Derosier, perform June 24, with singer Somar Macek.

All concerts are in the evening, with the exception of Sept. 23, which will coincide with the Prosser Balloon Rally weekend.

Pump supplier opens

Beckwith & Kuffel, a Pacific Northwest-based pump, compressor and blower distributor, opened a warehouse and service center at 514 E. First Ave., Kennewick.

The new site supports customers in the food processing and packaging, manufacturing and other general industries.

Beckwith & Kuffel serves municipal markets through its Granich Engineered Products division, which provides equipment and service for equipment for water and wastewater plants.

Visiting Angels moves

Visiting Angels, which provides living assistance services home care in the Tri-Cities, has changed locations.

Its new home is at 10 N. Washington St., Suite 120, Kennewick. It’s now neighbors with Adult Day Services of the Tri-Cities, which provides respite relief for caregivers.

Grandview Truck Plaza

Ramandeep Malhi, owner of Grandview Truck Plaza, and local officials will break ground on an $8 million travel plaza at 10 a.m., June 6, off Interstate 82 at Wine Country Road and Higgins Way in Grandview.

Grandview Truck Plaza will develop in phases and will bring a gas station, hotel, truck stop, convenience store, restaurant and other services to the community. It is the city’s top priority after a community survey identified the services as the ones residents most wanted.

Project funding is from a mix of public and private sources, including COVID-19 relief funds awarded by the city of Grandview, which is extending utilities and roads to the Port of Grandview-owned site.
