Mar. 22—Kenny Chesney has postponed his latest stadium tour for a second time.

The country superstar announced the decision Monday. He was initially booked to play U.S. Bank Stadium on May 2, 2020. But that show — and the entire tour — was pushed back to 2021, with a June 5 stop planned at USBS.

Chesney's team will announce the rescheduled 2022 dates soon. Ticketholders can use their tickets for the new date or request a refund at the point of purchase.

"We have waited for so long, I can't play knowing I would disappoint a portion of No Shoes Nation who wouldn't be able to get into the stadiums," Chesney said in a news release. "There's no way around that this year. As much I hate postponing further, I would hate telling people who waited we won't be able to let them come due to capacity restrictions. That's just not fair."

As live music is starting to slowly come back to life, it's most likely smaller club and theater shows will return sooner than stadium-sized concerts, which are typically big-budget affairs that will struggle to turn a profit if stadiums are operating under reduced capacity guidelines.

USBS has other shows still on sale that were postponed from 2020, including George Strait (July 31), Rammstein (Sept. 3) and the package tour of Motley Crue, Def Leppard, Poison and Joan Jett and the Blackhearts (July 8). Target Field's summer shows include Guns N' Roses (July 16) and Green Day, Fall Out Boy and Weezer (Aug. 23).
