Kensington Palace Confirms That Princess Charlotte Will Attend Prince George's School This Fall
Come fall, Princess Charlotte will join Prince George at Thomas’s Battersea, a tony elementary school in London.
While it's been something of an open secret that little Charlotte would be following in her older brother's footsteps, Kensington Palace officially confirmed the news today announcing that the 4-year-old royal will be enrolled in the school's "reception year" in September.
"We are delighted that the Duke & Duchess of Cambridge have decided that Princess Charlotte will join her elder brother Prince George at Thomas’s Battersea," reads a statement by the school's headmaster, Simon O’Malley.
"We greatly look forward to welcoming her and all of our new pupils to the school in September."
Notably, Thomas's has an enrollment of 560 girls and boys, and teaches a broad curriculum, with a focus on kindness.
"We hope that our pupils will leave this school with a strong sense of social responsibility, set on a path to become net contributors to society and to flourish as conscientious and caring citizens of the world," reads a description from the school's website.
But that kind of education doesn't come cheap. Charlotte's school fees will total £18,915 a year (or roughly $24,000). The Cambridges receive a slight discount on her tuition as she is the second sibling in the family enrolled. Prince George's tuition costs £19,287 (or roughly $24,500) per year.
Charlotte previously attended Willcocks Nursery School, which is also in London. On her first day of school there, in January of 2018, Kensington Palace released a pair of photos to mark the occasion.
