Prince Louis turns one today (23rd April), and to mark the occasion, the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge have given the world a rare glimpse of their youngest son. Kensington Palace has shared three new photos of Louis on social media that the Duchess of Cambridge shot herself. He's adorable in every picture.

"The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge are delighted to share three new photographs of Prince Louis ahead of his first birthday tomorrow. The photographs were taken earlier this month by The Duchess at their home in Norfolk," Kensington Palace captioned the photos.
Louis appears in a denim-blue puppy cashmere blend sweater from one of the Duchess's go-to children shops, Trotters, in one shot.

And Louis's white shirt with blue piping appears to be the same shirt Prince George wore previously.

The birthday photos of Louis come just as his aunt Meghan Markle is due with her and Prince Harry's first child. The Duchess of Sussex was not at Easter service with the family yesterday because she is "due any day" now with her baby.

Updates about Louis have generally been limited over this first year. His mother, the Duchess of Cambridge, recently told well-wishers that Louis "is a fast crawler,” during an event in January. In March, she told a parent that Louis is "bombing around" on a walker. "He just wants to pull himself up all the time," she said. "He’s got these little walkers and is bombing around on them."

And at the end of November, Kate talked a little about all three of her children to attendees at her Leicester visit.

"They’re doing well, thank you," she said to someone who asked about them. "They’re getting excited for Christmas time because they’ve started all their Christmas songs and Christmas trees are going up. It was really sweet. And Louis’s getting big. I can’t believe he’s like seven months now. He’s getting to be a big boy."

The last real glimpse of Louis was revealed back in autumn. He appeared in Prince Charles's birthday portraits.

Before that, he had been seen during his christening in July. He was asleep for most of those photos though:
