Kent County woman wins $1.1 million Lotto 47 jackpot
Consistency paid off for a Kent County woman who recently won a Lotto 47 jackpot worth $1.1 million.
The woman, who chose to remain anonymous, told the Michigan Lottery she buys a Lotto 47 ticket every week to cover both draws for that week and always plays the same numbers.
Her ticket matched the winning numbers drawn Jan. 31 — 3, 5, 7, 16, 19 and 30.
"When I checked my ticket the night of the drawing and realized I’d won, it was shocking!" she said. "I didn’t fully believe it until I called the Lottery the next day to verify my prize. To be honest, I’m still processing it. Winning provides endless opportunities that I otherwise wouldn’t have."
She purchased her ticket at the Family Fare located at 565 South St. Street in Sparta.
She recently claimed her prize and opted to receive a one-time lump sum payment of about $762,000 instead of annuity payments for the full amount.
She plans to use the money to donate to a few charities and save the rest.
