Kent State women's basketball loses to Toledo

Toledo took control of the game in the third quarter and went on to defeat Kent State, 77-68, in a Mid-American Conference women's basketball game on Saturday night.

The score was tied at halftime, 32-32, before the Rockets (12-3, 3-1 MAC) outscored the Golden Flashes (10-5, 2-2) 26-12. Kent State, in losing its second consecutive conference game, couldn't get closer than eight points the rest of the way.

Freshman Corynne Hauser led the Flashes with 18 points and three assists, while Lindsay Thall added 12 points. Jenna Batsch came off the bench to finish with 10.

Quinesha Lockett scored 15 of her game-high 36 points in the third quarter for Toledo. She also tied for the team high with six rebounds. Jayda Jansen scored 10 as Toledo shot .509 from the field (29-of-57), including a scorching .611 in the third quarter (11-for-18).

Kent State was 24-for-61 from the floor (.393), including 7-for-22 (.318) on 3-pointers.

The Flashes play host to Eastern Michigan at 7 p.m. Wednesday.
