Kentuckiana cancellations, delays: Clarksville Community schools go to remote learning

A winter weather advisory has been issued in Louisville and the surrounding areas, as about an inch of snow is expected beginning about 6 p.m.

Kentucky schools closures, delays

Jefferson County Public Schools

Jefferson County Public Schools is canceling all sporting events and extracurricular activities after 6 p.m. Wednesday, the district said in a text sent to parents. The district already had decided not to have in-person classes this week, choosing to go to nontraditional learning because of COVID-related staffing issues.

Shelby County Public Schools

Shelby County Public Schools will have virtual learning Thursday, according to Cyndi Powell-Skellie, the district’s spokesperson.

Clarksville Community Schools

Clarksville Community Schools will be on a remote learning schedule Thursday, Jan. 20, and Friday, Jan. 21, officials say

Greater Clark County Schools

Greater Clark County Schools will have remote learning for the rest of the week "due to staffing shortages," the district said on Facebook.

Extracurricular activities may still take place.

New Albany Floyd County schools

New Albany Floyd County schools will be doing virtual learning on Thursday, said Pam Schindler, administrative assistant to the supertintendent.
