Kentucky high school football scoreboard: Manual rematches PRP in Week 1 of postseason play

Friday marks the start of a new season: The postseason. A place where rankings and records no longer matter.

Who will be the better team for 48 minutes? Who's going to handle the elements better? Who's fading late in the season? Which teams are peaking at the right time? These are the necessary questions to consider as we find out which teams will end the season as state champions.

We're going to start off with many, but with the snap of the infinity gauntlet, we'll only have half by the end of the night. Follow The Courier Journal's Kentucky high school football scoreboard to see the teams that advanced and the ones that had their seasons dusted.

The Crimsons withstand their first playoff game without JaWaun Northington and advance to the second round of the playoffs, where they'll face St. Xavier.

Shamrocks up big early in their playoff game against the Marshals. Meanwhile, CAL has extended their lead over Henry County, and Bullitt East is taking over versus Southern.

Crimsons use a trick play on fourth down to keep their drive alive. Who says October 31st only comes once a year?

7:46 CAL takes 7-0 lead over Henry County

CAL uses the air attack to get on the board first against Henry County in the first quarter.

Selah stays home

Male defensive lineman Selah Brown finally answered the question that everyone's wanted to know ever since he started terrorizing quarterbacks for the Bulldogs.

After months of visits, calls and offers Brown chose to stay at home and play for U of L on Thursday.

Brown was all smiles during his commitment announcement ceremony at Male High School on Thursday. But now that Brown's solidified his future plans, he can focus on his present goal of leading the Bulldogs to a state championship.

Can Manual stay on track without JaWaun Northington?

Manual is one of the deepest teams you'll see in the playoffs, but that doesn't mean it's thrilled to be without its best player for the start of the postseason.

Crimsons' star running back Ja'Waun Northington will be out for Manual's first round game against Pleasure Ridge Park on Friday. Northington is currently recovering from an elbow injury he received the Crimsons lost last week to Male.
