Kentucky State Police are investigating the death of a 2-year-old girl from Dry Ridge, officials said.
Troopers received a 911 call on the evening of June 16 saying the girl was found unresponsive in the family pool, KSP officials said in a news release Thursday.
A family member attempted life saving measures at the scene before Grant County EMS arrived, officials said.
The girl was taken to St. Elizabeth Hospital but medical personnel there were unable to find a pulse, the release states, adding she was then flown to Cincinnati Children's Hospital Medical Center.
Officials said hospital staff notified police that the girl was pronounced dead around 6:11 p.m. Wednesday.
The Hamilton County Coroner's Office has ruled the circumstances of her death as an "apparent drowning."
Kentucky State Police is investigating the girl's death, officials said, though no foul play is suspected at this time.
