Coverage from the game: Kentucky basketball adds to NCAA Tournament resume with impressive win at Arkansas

Kentucky men's basketball heads into its regular-season finale uncertain who will handle point guard duties Saturday at Arkansas.

Freshman Cason Wallace went down with a leg injury in the second half of Wednesday's Senior Night loss to Vanderbilt at Rupp Arena. In a meeting with reporters Friday afternoon, Bruiser Flint, UK's associate to the head coach, said Wallace had been "getting treatment" since Wednesday. But Flint had no update as to whether Wallace would suit up for the Wildcats (20-10, 11-6 SEC) against the Razorbacks (19-11, 8-9).

Senior Antonio Reeves, who normally plays off the ball, had it in his hands more often Wednesday after Wallace's injury. Along with Reeves, other players Flint noted could step in Saturday at point included senior CJ Fredrick and the freshman duo of Adou Thiero and Chris Livingston.

Even before Wallace's injury, the Wildcats were short-handed at the position. Senior Sahvir Wheeler missed six straight contests (Feb. 7 through the 25th) with an ankle injury. Then prior to Wednesday's game, coach John Calipari tweeted Wheeler had a "minor procedure" performed unrelated to the ankle injury.

After the loss to the Commodores, Calipari said the surgery likely would sideline Wheeler at least "a couple weeks."

The Wildcats enter Saturday's game with a 33-14 advantage in the all-time series. And Calipari owns a 10-7 mark against Arkansas since becoming Kentucky's coach.

But the Razorbacks have numbers in their favor, too. They've won three straight meetings against the Wildcats, including an 88-73 triumph in Lexington earlier this month; a victory Saturday would give Arkansas a four-game win streak over Kentucky for the first time in school history.

The Razorbacks also own the best winning percentage (41.2%) by an SEC team against the Wildcats since Calipari's first season as coach in 2009-10.
