Sports Chat Place: Take Florida to cover vs. Kentucky

It writes: "I’m going to take a stab on Florida. This should be a pretty intriguing matchup regardless, though. The Gators got a big lift from Richardson in their win over the Utes. He helped carry the team to 451 total yards, 7.2 yards per play, 23 first downs and just three punts. It was a great win against a talented Utes team right out of the gate. As for Kentucky, they got moving in the second half and pulled off a blowout win but they left a bit to be desired stats-wise. The Wildcats had just 50 rush yards and were only 2-of-8 on third-down tries. Still, Kentucky should make a ballgame out of this one and it’ll be a fun matchup to watch."

Picks and Parlays: Kentucky 28, Florida 24

Cameron Ross writes: "This will be a tightly contested SEC matchup in week two as both teams come in undefeated. Florida will have the advantage on their home field, but Kentucky has the ranking and experience in their favor. Look for Kentucky to keep this game close throughout as the Wildcats will look to get to win but will cover the number in week two."

Fansided: Florida will beat Kentucky in Week 2

Will Thomas writes: "Kentucky is going to be without their top two running backs in The Swamp due to injury and suspension. The running game of Utah is what hurt the Gators in the second half, so it appears that that issue has mostly solved itself. Without Wan’Dale Robinson at receiver, QB Will Levis was already limited with his options offensively. As long as the Gators don’t let Levis run for 200 yards, the defense should have a great day. Offensively, we know the Gators will be great. Miami-Ohio rushed for 111 on these guys last week. What do you think AR, Wright, Montrell, and Etienne are going to do to them? Overall, this is a game that the Gators should win. Sure, divisional games can always be tough, but with the momentum of the program and the skill gap between the two teams, UF should be 2-0 by the time this one is over."

Sporting News: Florida 33, Kentucky 26

Bill Bender writes: "These SEC East rivals have split the last four meetings. The Gators jumped into the Top 25 after a Week 1 upset against Utah. Kentucky might be without running back Chris Rodriguez, who was suspended in Week 1. Quarterback Anthony Richardson stays hot against the Wildcats in a duel with Will Levis, and the Gators continue their hot start with first-year coach Billy Napier."

Sportsnaut: Florida 35, Kentucky 17

Matt Johnson writes: "We know what happened last year, things are very different now. Richardson is emerging as a Heisman Trophy candidate and that’s a talent upgrade that is eons better than the situation in 2021 with Emory Jones. Plus, quarterback Will Levis posted a 24.0 QBR in that game and need 17 pass attempts to reach 87 passing yards. Imagine the challenges he might face in “The Swamp”."
