Kernels volleyball team earns 2022 USMC/AVCA team academic award
Jul. 19—MITCHELL — The American Volleyball Coaches Association (AVCA) announced Monday, July 18 that the Mitchell High School volleyball team earned the USMC/AVCA Team Academic Award for the 2021-22 season.
The award, which started in 1992-93, honors teams that average a GPA of 3.30 or higher for the academic year. In addition to this accomplishment, MHS volleyball also earned the Honor Roll distinction, which represents the top 20% of team GPAs in their respective divisions.
Mitchell was one of the many high schools in South Dakota that received honors from the USMC/AVCA, as Burke, Chester Area, Dell Rapids, Elkton, Menno, Parker, Warner and others were all recognized.
