Not one but two country artists will headline the Friday entertainment lineup at the 11th Outlaws and Legends Music Festival, scheduled for March 25-26 at the Back Porch of Texas in northwest Abilene.
Announced Wednesday morning on the event website were Sammy Kershaw and Aaron Tippin for the 9:30 p.m. slot that Friday.
They will perform together with a backing band. They have done this in other places, sometimes with Collin Raye making it a trio.
The headliner for the Saturday half of the festival will be announced at a later date.
Both Kershaw and Tippin have performed before in Abilene but it has been many years for both.
The event is organized by Mark Powell, who will perform at 7:30 p.m. that Saturday.
The 10th anniversary festival was last spring, delayed a year because of COVID-19. Actor Kevin Costner, who fronts a band called Modern West, was the Friday headliner.
