Kevin Hart is “awake” and doing “just fine” in hospital after being involved in a horrifying car collision.
The comedian, 40, suffered “major back injuries” after his vintage car reportedly careered off the road into a ditch at 1am on Sunday.
His wife, Eniko Parrish, has told TMZ that the Ride Along star is doing “great” and is expected to make a full recovery after the accident in Los Angeles.
According to the publication, the comic is recovering from surgery with sources claiming that doctors completed a successful back operation.
“He’s gonna be just fine," she told reporters outside the hospital. "He’s good, everybody’s good. Thank God."
Parrish , who has a 21-month-old son, Kenzo, with Kevin and is the step-mother to his two other children, added: “He’s fine, he’s awake.”
Horrifying images of the wreckage showed that the roof of the vehicle was completely destroyed, while the windshield was completely smashed.
According to The Blast, doctors believe Hart can recover from his injuries as he didn’t suffer any spinal cord damage during the crash.
Following an outpouring of well-wishes from the likes of Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson and David Beckham yesterday, Justin Bieber also posted a message of support.
He tweeted: “@KevinHart4real love you man.”
A California Highway Patrol collision report cited by AP said Hart was the passenger in the car, which is believed to have tumbled down an embankment in the hills above Malibu.
The driver, Jared Black, is also said to have suffered major injuries in the accident. He was not under the influence of alcohol at the time, CHP added.
AP said Hart and the car’s driver were both taken to hospital having suffered “major back injuries”.
The driver of the car was not under the influence of alcohol, according to the report.
Authorities said Hart was able to leave the scene of the crash with a second passenger.
He was taken to Northridge Hospital Medical Center and the driver was taken to another hospital.
His publicist did not respond to requests for comment when contacted.
