Kevin Mihm appointed to District 3 seat for Corpus Christi ISD board

Corpus Christi ISD trustees appointed Kevin Mihm, a refinery controller at Valero Bill Greehey Refineries, to fill the District 3 seat during a special called board meeting Wednesday.

Mihm is replacing Tony Diaz, who announced his resignation in October after serving on the board since 2008.

The District 3 appointment expires in November 2022.

“The district’s vision goes beyond passing tests to building future leaders,” Mihm told the board during his interview, according to a news release.

Mihm has two children enrolled in CCISD schools and a third who will start school the 2022-23 school year, and recently welcomed a baby boy.

"His perspective as a member of the business community and as a parent of young children will give him valuable insight as he considers issues before the board," Superintendent Roland Hernandez said in the news release.

Mihm will be sworn in and begin his service at the next regular board meeting Monday.
