Kevin Smith, Debbie DeLisa, Pat Battle and more to be feted at Monmouth Arts gala

I assure you, we're being honored.

Filmmaker Kevin Smith, Wonder Bar manager Debbie DeLisa, newscaster Pat Battle, podcaster and actor Ming Chen, Sea Hear Now co-founder Tim Donnelly, and the Impact 100 Jersey Coast women’s grant making collective will be honored at the Monmouth Arts After Dark, The Art of the Impossible event on Thursday, Sept. 28, at the Wonder Bar and Tim McLoone's Supper Club in Asbury Park.

Monmouth Arts provides programs and services that support the "practice, presence and influence" of the arts and of artists throughout Monmouth County, and the group annually fetes leading figures in the county arts community.

“This year we are thrilled to honor some of the most prominent and inspirational artistic figures with roots in Monmouth County,” said Teresa Staub, executive director of Monmouth Arts, in a statement. “Their many years of impact on screen, stage and in studio deserve to be celebrated, and we look forward to honoring each of them on Sept. 28. Our mission remains to help local artists and arts organizations within the county. We are proud that all funds raised from this event will support the local arts community.”

Smith, a native of Highlands, gained national fame with his 1994 movie "Clerks," and continues to be a leading movie director. DeLisa just celebrated 20 years at the helm of the Wonder Bar, which has become a community hub in the city.

Battle of Neptune is a former Asbury Park Press reporter who is the co-anchor for NBC 4 New York’s “Weekend Today in New York.” Chen is a podcaster and co-host of AMC's "Comic Book Men."

Donnelly's Sea Hear Now brings music stars and thousands of fans annually to the beach in Asbury Park.

The event will feature "Masters of Illusions" Jeanette Andrews and Brandon Williams, along with video deejay and New York Emmy winner Adam Worth.

Tickets start at $190 and can be purchased through monmoutharts.org/the-art-of-the-impossible. Dress is "Asbury Park chic."
