Kewanee, A-W golfers in full swing

Ryan Hansen's Boilermakers traveled to Geneseo for a quadrangular on Monday, Aug. 15, at Geneseo Country View Golf Course.

Geneseo topped the field with 144. Spring Valley Hall totaled 160; Mercer County, 170, and Kewanee, 213.

Hayden Moore of Geneseo was the match medalist with 34. Team medalists were Emmitt Brokaw, Kewanee, 44; Hunter Weeks, Mercer County, 37; and Landen Plym, Hall, 36.

Besides Brokaw, Kewanee golfers included Will Rumbold, 50; Andy Osbourne, 54, and Owen Laue, 65.

On Wednesday, Aug. 17, Kewanee hosted Varna Midland, Stark County and Williamsfield at Baker Park.

The Boilermakers defeated the Rebels 202-205. Midland's Timberwolves edged the hosts 200-202.Williamsfield placed first overall with 180. Jake McGarry was the match medalist with 38.

Kewanee's medalist was Brokaw with a 45. Owen LaRoe led Midland with 46, and Jimmy Langdon paced Stark County with 47.

Boilermakers chipping in to the team score were Osbourne, 49; Lucas Ensley, 51, and Shaan Dev, 57. Also on the course were Rumbold, 59, and Laue, 79.

On Thursday, Aug. 18, Kewanee had another home meet with Ridgewood and Peru St. Bede.St. Bede totaled 168; Ridgewood, 184, and Kewanee, 193.

Bruin Brendan Pillion was the match medalist with 38. Kewanee's medalist was Brokaw, 43, and Ridgewood's was Brenden Bolduc, 40.

Boilermakers in the competition were Osbourne, 49; Ensley, 50; Nolan Benecke, 51; Rumbold, 58, and Dev, 66.

Kewanee girls golf

Hansen's girls hosted Knoxville and Stark County on Tuesday afternoon, Aug. 16, at Baker Park.

Powered by Mya Mirocha's 44, Kewanee cruised to a 196-262 win over Stark County. Knoxville did not have enough girls for a team score.

Olivia Orwig was the Stark County medalist with a 61, and P. Lewis shot 58 for Knoxville honors.Besides Mirocha, the Lady Boilers were Hope Peed, 48, and Eleanor Burkhardt and Aspen Schwickerath, 52s.

A-W golf

Ann Heller's Titans teed off with Biggsville West Central and Galva on Thursday afternoon, Aug. 18, at Midland Golf Club, rural Kewanee.

Led by Taylor Haga's 53, the Galva girls defeated Annawan-Wethersfield 252-277. West Central girls played on the Heat's boys team.

Elizabeth McGill was the Titan medalist with a 54. Also contributing to the team score were Elle Eastman, 66; Katie Attig, 74, and Maya Hakes, 83.

Other Titans on the course were Breanna Peed, 86, and Elise Manuel, 90.

In the boys match, West Central topped Annawan-Wethersfield 196-247. Galva had only three boys, including match medalist Jaxon Willer. He shot 38.

The Annawan-Wethersfield medalist was Seth Moore, 52, and the West Central medalists were Elaina Fisher, 47, and Ethan Nichols, 47.

Besides Moore, the Titans adding to the team score were Caleb McGill, 54; Payton Wallace, 68, and Drew Wise, 73. Zach Gerber carded 78.

Annawan-Wethersfield golfers hosted Monmouth United and Bushnell-Prairie City on Monday, Aug. 22, at Midland Golf Course, rural Kewanee.

Bushnell-Prairie City won the boys division with 196 to 198 for United and 242 for Annawan-Wethersfield.Dalton Strode of Bushnell-Prairie City was the match medalist with 38.

Seth Moore and Caleb McGill led the Titans with 53s. United's medalist was Luke Jungmann with 45.

Besides Moore and McGill, Titans on the course inclided Payton Wallace and Drew Wise, 68s, and Zach Gerber, 83.

United girls topped A-W 220-283. Bushnell-Prairie City did not have enough girls for a team score.Emmie Briggs of United was the match medalist. She shot 52.

Elizabeth McGill was the Titan medalist with 64. Jeightlin Sickles was the Bushnell-Prairie City leader with 64.Elle Eastman contributed to the Annawan-Wethersfield team score with a 71. Katie Attig and Elise Manuel added 74s. Also playing were Laylah Kraft, 77, and Maya Hakes, 88.
