Kewaskum man dies Thursday while fleeing a traffic stop on State 28 in Sheboygan County

SHEBOYGAN - After fleeing a traffic stop, a 30-year-old Kewaskum man died when he lost control of his car Thursday evening, the Sheboygan County Sheriff's Office said.

A Sheboygan County deputy tried to pull over the man for a moving violation shortly before 8 p.m. Thursday on State 28. Instead of stopping, the man fled, with the deputy pursuing him. The Kewaskum man lost control of his vehicle and it rolled over, coming to rest at State 28 south of State 144.

The man died at the scene. No other vehicles were involved, the sheriff's office said.

The sheriff's office said they turned over the crash investigation to the Washington County Sheriff's Office to "maintain transparency for our community." They did not release any further details, including the man's identity.
