Up 'til now, popcorn chicken may as well have been called "tiny chicken bites." Because, like, where's the popcorn? KFC has recognized this and officially worked to change it...by introducing "Popcorn Crispy Chicken" in their Hong Kong locations.

According to Brand Eating, the limited-time menu item comes as advertised-it is essentially chicken that is breaded with popcorn bits and then fried. Lest you worry that's not enough theme commitment for you, please know the dish is served with a "caramel-flavored" sauce you can pour over the entire meal, should you so choose. That's to enhance the dessert-iness of your KFC experience, of course.

According to KFC Hong Kong's site, they're currently offering a deal that gets you two pieces of the chicken (a thigh and a drumstick, to be more specific), mashed potatoes with gravy, and a soft drink for about $6. There's also the option to add bacon crinkle fries to the meal as well.

The sweet addition comes with the introduction of the Caramel Popcorn Sundae, which is essentially a tiny KFC bucket filled with vanilla soft serve and topped with caramel sauce and caramel corn.

All this is to say I need to speak to someone who's tried this. Do me a favor-book yourself a round-trip to Hong Kong, grab a few orders, and let me know? Or if one of you could just eat some fried chicken, chase it with handfuls of popcorn, and report back, that would work too. TYSM!
