Khune hungry for silverware

Kaizer Chiefs skipper Itumeleng Khune is confident the Soweto giants will bring silverware to Naturena this season. Amakhosi have started their league campaign well and could reclaim top spot on Wednesday night if they beat Black Leopards at the FNB stadium, after the original clash was abandoned with Chiefs leading 2-0 on Saturday because of a hailstorm. Khune feels the Glamour Boys are on track to make amends for last term's trophyless efforts. He told Football411.com: "We had a chance with the MTN8, but we missed it because we lost to Sundowns. "Now we are doing well in the league and as much as we don't want to get carried away, I believe we are on the right track. "We are going all out for our fans, because we can't ignore the fact that we didn't do well last season but on the other hand I know we have a team that can help us win trophies. I'm feeling very confident." The 25-year-old is also highly motivated by his man-of-the-match performance for Bafana Bafana against Brazil earlier this month and he said he intends to hold on to the number-one jersey. "There is no time to relax, especially because Moeneeb Josephs is back and there is also Wayne Sandilands, so this is tough competition. I will do everything in my power to make sure I remain the number one goalkeeper for the national team," concluded Khune.
