- Kia announced pricing for its new 2023 EV6 lineup. Yahoo Finance's Pras Subramanian has all the details. And what can you tell us about the new Kia? Is it a zippy-mobile?

PRAS SUBRAMANIAN: You know, Kia has been doing really well-- it--

- Zippy-mobile.

- Sorry, zippy-mobile threw me off a little bit.

[LAUGHING]

PRAS SUBRAMANIAN: It's pretty--

- Can we write this segment off?

- They're not going to put that on the bumper sticker.

PRAS SUBRAMANIAN: No, no. Maybe they should, right? I mean, it's a pretty nice, fast, darty little car. I want to say that they actually had a pretty strong month in October, sold around 1,800 EV6s and almost 18,000 for the year. So really strong numbers here for this car that's slowly coming out. Dealers can't keep it in stock.

So why is it? Well, it's a pretty strong contender, right? So from an exterior point of view, it's no modern classic, right? It's a very futuristic looking design, kind of like this raked cabin that goes into a back with the nice little hatch there. And what I think is the most appealing part is the rear end with the light treatment almost going into that spoiler-like kind of a design. So I think it's a pretty appealing design. I think people like it a lot. Kia is really kind of pushing it with their design.

Inside, of course, I think same deal. Nice materials, nice fit and finish, very nice seats here in this GT trim, like almost like a suede vegan-like leather kind of situation. Behind the wheel, this is the single motor design here. 225 horsepower, so not that much, but actually felt pretty peppy on the roads here because of this immediate torque with an EV engine-- EV motor I should say.

This car comes in a dual motor setup, which you can get with much more power, but this is-- I thought was just fine. The steering was a little bit boosted from my taste, but kind of fun, kind of video gamey in some sense. So I think the EV6 is a definite winner. And for this car, starts at around $48,000. So it's not cheap, but this is the kind of going rate for an EV these days, and I think it's one of the more reasonably priced ones you can get.
