Georgia’s marquee football matchup with Oregon to open the 2022 season won’t be in prime time.

The Sept. 3 matchup at Atlanta’s Mercedes-Benz Stadium in the Chick-fil-A Kickoff Game is set for a 3:30 p.m. kickoff and will be shown on ABC, according to an announcement by the network on Tuesday.

Notre Dame at Ohio State will follow on ABC at 7:30 p.m. on the same date. ESPN's College GameDay will originate that day from Columbus.

Georgia, the reigning college football national champions, will go up against a familiar face in first-year Ducks coach Dan Lanning, the defensive coordinator the last three seasons for the Bulldogs who joined the staff in 2018 as outside linebackers coach.

The Bulldogs are No. 2 and Oregon is No. 14 in USA Today’s post-spring top 25.
