Move over Tyler Perry, Kid Cudi is the next multi-hyphenate headed to Netflix.

The hip hop artist, producer and actor — whose given name is Scott Ramon Mescudi — announced on social media that he will write, direct and star in an upcoming film, “Teddy,” for the streaming giant.

Marking his directorial debut, the Jay-Z/Jeymes Samuels-produced project is “very close” to Kid Cudi’s heart after germinating for close to a decade.

“The road has been long, from it being a tv show for years to finally being a film. So it means so f---ing much to finally be able to bring it to the screen next year, and I cant wait for u all to meet Teddy, his friends, his family and take a walk in his world for a bit,” the “Day ‘n’ Nite” rapper wrote in a lengthy Instagram note on Tuesday.

Explaining how important the film is to him, including the fact that it will feature some of his own personal struggles and experiences, the 38-year-old Grammy winner adds that if he could paraphrase the movie’s plot, “It’s as if I took the song ‘Pursuit of Happiness’ and wrote a movie about it.”

“Now this is a comedy, but It wouldn’t be me if I didn’t sprinkle some real s--- in there,” he continued. “It’s trippy, it’s fun, it’s sad, it’s life...I know, that deep down, this movie will help people in the same ways my music has. I’m continuing my mission.”

The subject of a recent Amazon Prime Video biographical documentary, Kid Cudi’s acting credits include the movies “Don’t Look Up,” “Need for Speed” and the television series “Westworld,” “We Are Who We Are” and “How to Make it America.”

Samuel and Jay-Z are producers of Netflix’s Black Western drama “The Harder They Fall.”
